Developmental Eye Movement Test

The Developement Eye Movement Test evaluates oculomotor function in an objective, easily-repeatable, and standardised way. The test evaluates whether a child's reading difficulties are related to oculomotor dysfunction by comparing horizontal and vertical reading speeds. Saccade and tracking exercises can then be prescribed if appropriate.

This simple three-step test can be administered in a few minutes. Its results have been proved reliable and consistent in children aged 6 years and above and are unrelated to the child's educational or reading ability.

Full explanation, instruction, and examples are contained in the examiner's booklet. Also included are score sheets for recording results, which can be compared with age-related normative values in a comprehensive set of tables.
