Screening Book Set
The screening book set provides a comprehensive tool for accurately testing very young children's eyesight quickly and easily. One book contains everything you need for matching or naming pictures at six or three-metre testing distances (twenty or ten feet).
Its versatility makes it the only vision test you should need for screening two to three year old children, with a wide range of acuity sizes from 3/60 to 6/3 (10/200 to 20/10), depending on the test distance.
Pictures are fun so it's easy to keep a child's attention. They are also ideal for older children and adults with learning disabilities and those with a visual impairment.
The eight pictures were chosen from the original 22 in the six-metre and three-metre sets and are accurately designed and graded according to the Snellen system. They are used one at a time throughout the test with a choice of three different pictures at each acuity level. A side index identifies each picture and acuity size.
You can either ask the child to name or sign each each picture as it is shown or give the child one of the two key cards (8 or 4 pictures) and ask him to point out the picture that matches each one chosen from the flip-over book. Record his vision as the smallest size that he names, signs, or matches correctly.
A near test card with three rows of reduced Snellen size pictures accompanies the test.
Book covers and key cards are encapsulated in hard-wearing plastic and the near test card is matt laminated. These can be wiped clean.
